Aletha Jacobs is a Licensed Professional Counselor who holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria,TX and Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge, LA. She has over 20 years of experience in providing mental health and case management services including goal setting for adults with physical and mental impairments. Aletha's passion revolves around empowering others to overcome their trauma and helping them reach their goals.
Aletha knows firsthand how trauma can affect the life of someone. In 2007, Aletha experienced a life changing event when two coworkers' lives ended through workplace violence. It led to a diagnosis of PTSD. Through her faith and extensive prolonged exposure therapy, Aletha was able to heal the wounds from this event and past trauma. Aletha has dedicated the last 15 years to self-empowerment and empowering the lives of others.
In 2015, Aletha was led to start a foundation, We Are Pearls, for girls 7-18 years old focusing on mentoring, self esteem building, financial enhancement, healthy eating and community service. In her free time, Aletha enjoys writing, reading, decorating, volunteering, and spending time with friends/family.
